Prof. R.L. Hangloo is presently working as Vice-Chancellor, University of Allahabad (A Central University), Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, India after Vice-Chancellor Kalyani University Nadia West Bengal (2013-2015). During that time, University of Allahabad burning and struggling for its existence as continuously two vice chancellors were frightened away from this Institution. After immediate joining, he started working for holistic development of University by making so many revolutionary changes in academic, financial, administrative activities. However, a group of teaching staffs especially retd. teachers with some student’s leaders were continually engaged in fading the image VC, in which there were always hindering positive steps started for University. These evils also made chain of written complaints against Vice Chancellor to MHRD, PMO, UGC etc., so that University would become without regular Vice Chancellor. Unfortunately, MHRD has taken concern to these complaints for ulterior motives and moved the file. However, after examination, President has returned the complaint to Ministry to go with proper channels. He obtained his M.Phil. & Ph.D from Jawaharlal Nehru University. Personality of Prof. Hangloo is reliable, responsible, fair and authentic which better suites him as Vice Chancellor. Several awards are in credit of Prof. Hangloo such as Ganga Vibhushan Samman for Academic Excellence in 2018 by Maa Ganga Nirmal Sanrakshan Samiti, Prayagraj, also chaired various national and international activities.
Prof. Hangloo is currently working and paying his all efforts for holistic development of University of Allahabad. Only he has introduced the Post Graduation and research (D.Phil) courses in all the constituent colleges of University. Making a positive environment of University, he introduced various academic as well as administrative activities viz., holding lecture series of eminent personalities of India & abroad, honoring excellent personalities from all sections of University system on January 26, annually, saturation of teaching post in colleges, appointment of permanent Registrar and Finance Office, announcement of free education martyr families, holding of NAAC inspection, hostel washout for eradication for illegal persons, 100%cashless transactions, identification & removal former financial irregularities, removal of retired academic evils, construction of Vivekananda Admistrative Block, Centre of Behavioral and Cognitive Sciences(CBCS), Deen Dayal Upadyay e-learning Centre, renovation of hostels, inauguration of new hostels, initiation of biometric attendance system, single window counter etc.
